MSI Current Limiting Reactor

Current Limiting Reactors

A Current Limiting Reactors (CLR) is commonly used in the primary circuit of an electrostatic precipitator’s TR set.  Electrostatic precipitators are used for pollution control in paper mills, power plants, and even restaurants.  Magnetic Specialties can design and manufacture single and multi-tap CLRs for a variety of line frequencies including 400 Hz operation.

Features

  • Power rating up to continuous 500 A
  • Designed not to saturate when subjected to the full system voltage
  • Quiet operation under full load conditions means a long and reliable lifespan
  • Single phase standard
  • Aluminum or copper windings

Optional

  • Can be installed under oil
  • Three phase construction
  • UL Recognized insulation system (System voltage must be less than 600V).  130, 180, and 220°C systems are available
  • CE marking with declaration of conformity (ROHS and Low Voltage Directive where applicable)
  • Private labeling with customer supplied nameplate artwork (Units that are private labeled cannot carry our UL label)
  • Mechanical design can be tailored to fit an existing enclosure or we can supply the CLR installed in one of our NEMA 1 or NEMA 3R cabinets
  • Test Reports with optional Certificate of Compliance
