Furnace Transformers
Furnace Transformers
Furnace Transformers are true workhorses. We engineer and manufacture a transformer to power your furnace under a wide variety of conditions. The impedance of a heating element changes with age. This requires the power output of the transformer to change as well. Our furnace transformers can be designed with multiple input and output taps to adapt to these changes.
Features
- Power rating up to 3000 KVA
- Single phase, three phase, or three to two phase Scott T configuration
- Frequency: 50, 60, and 400 Hz operation – Please inquire for other frequencies
- Self-cooled, forced air cooled, or water-cooled construction
- Standard temp rise is 115°C in a 40°C ambient, but we can design for ambient temperatures up to 80°C (Temp rise adjusted not to exceed insulation ratings)
- Aluminum or copper windings
Optional
- UL Recognized insulation system (Primary must be 600V or less). MSI UL Insulation systems are available in 130°, 180° and 220°C ratings
- CE marking with declaration of conformity. ROHS and Low Voltage Directive where applicable
- Private labeling with customer supplied nameplate artwork. Units that are private labeled cannot carry our UL label
- Temperature monitoring thermal switches, thermocouples, or platinum RTDs
- NEMA 1 (indoor) or NEMA 3R (outdoor) enclosure with ANSI 61 gray powder coat finish
- No-load tap switch
- External bus connections through insulated enclosure panel
- Secondary current meters for connection to process control equipment
- Final Test Reports with optional Certificate of Compliance
