Magnetic Specialties Ships Low Profile Mining Duty Transformers

Telford, Pa. – September 2, 2020 – Magnetic Specialties, Inc. recently shipped three 1MVA, three-phase step down transformers for use in a demanding mining application.

Each transformer features a 13,200V Delta Primary with two 2.5% full current above and below nominal voltage taps designed for 60kV BIL. The Wye Secondary is a 480/277V configuration. These Mining Transformers feature copper windings and mitered cores. The 6,200-pound core and coil assembly were designed using proprietary software and Solidworks® 3D modeling.
